60 Plus 30 Visa In Laos?

Featured Replies

spending time reading the posts today here,I have this question.I have been here on just the visa exempt stamps, been here 2months now from Canada.I need(like) to stay here(tourist) for an additional 90 days.then return to Canada and I will get the proper visa before my next return. But for now If I read this right it may be best for me to go to Laos(Vientianne?) to get a 60 day tourist visa with the additonal 30 day .I am in Chiang Mai....or are there better plans or visa services available here???thanks

Your plan is the right idea. You can even get a double entry if you want.

Vientiane will give a 2 entry tourist which with a 30 day extension will give you the 90 days you want.

This 29 page topic has lots of info about visa runs to Vientiane. If you start at the last page and work you way back a few pages you will find lots of good info.

From Chiang Mai overland you can go by bus to Udon and then from there to Nong Kai and Vientiane. By air you have to go through Bangkok. Or to Luang Prabang Laos and then to Vientiane on Lao Airways.

Vientiane is not a bad place to visit lots to see. Some hotels that aren't pricey and good food. Beer Lao is a good refreshment also.
