December 5, 200817 yr I've always been surprised that detailed information about how to explore the Thonburi klongs (RELATED TO TOURISM) seems unavailable. And, over the years, when I have approached Thai friends about doing so, they tend to sort of panic...admitting they wouldn't know where to start and how to do it. Are there any fairly detailed online sources about tourism and the klongs in Thonburi that any of you have discovered? Incidentally, those of you who do like exploring Bangkok, might like to visit the following website: http://www.tour-bangkok-legacies.com/index.html
February 6, 200917 yr I don't know how helpful this is, but I recall owning an English language book specifically dedicated to exploring the klongs of Thonburi. I will see if I still have that. Have you asked at Asia books and the like?
February 6, 200917 yr Author I don't know how helpful this is, but I recall owning an English language book specifically dedicated to exploring the klongs of Thonburi. I will see if I still have that. Have you asked at Asia books and the like? Not any time recently. It has always surprised me that when Thai friends have taken a day to show me around "anywhere you want to go" and I have said explore Thonburi's klongs, they get this alarmed expression and push us to go some other place. I have just found it odd that with all the general talk there is on the topic and particularly with the internet, that there seems to be no ready source of material that goes into detail. Thanks for your thought, though!
February 6, 200917 yr Just ask any of the longtails that hang around Sathorn pier. It's not difficult.
