True Or Mict Blocking King's Wikipedia Page?

Featured Replies

Just got a call from a buddy of mine asking me to check something.

If you try to go here...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhumibol_Adulyadej

You seem to end up here if using True DSL...

http://w3.mict.go.th/

Are other True users seeing this, and are people with other ISPs seeing this?

What's the deal?

Not getting this. No problems.

I think this thread will be stopped soon though...

As this is a thread about a website, and not a discussion about the Royal family, I can also confirm that the site is inaccessible.

Both site I can't access: 1.: Error 404 and 2.: Under construction!

But MICT is the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.

Cheers.

Right, as long as people steer clear of speculation about Why the page is down, we should be ok.

The Wikipedia site isn't down. It's just that one page as far as I can tell.

These all work:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ananda_Mahidol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Kings_of_Thailand

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rama_(King_of_Thailand)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakri_dynasty

Maxnet shows

Access Denied (policy_denied)

Your system policy has denied access to the requested URL...

For assistance, contact your network support team.

Unless I am mistaken (never happens) they can only block it INSIDE Thailand.

HM King

Works Fine

It does actually say on the actual page entry, that this entry is blocked in Thailand!

I get an access denied on the posted link.. Using Maxnet on TT&T..

But a search on wikipedia gives http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Bhumibol...dej_of_Thailand

thats what I get and I am using Loxinfo...

Yup, I'm getting the denied page for the original link.

On KSC.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

It works fine here. I am with TOT.

What's the deal?
Some web sites are 'blocked' from view within Thailand, the blocking is carried out at a fairly simple level, I "understand" that if you are really keen to see such information...

Edited by Cuban

This page worked just a few days ago as I was looking at it myself.

I'm using True ADSL in Bangkok

Having looked at the page I can see why they have blocked it.

Yep. Looking good on TOT.

"Not found" page. True ADSL bangkok.

As it should be known by now, that site is blocked by Thai Authorities and thedrefore I'll closed this topic.
