With the new changes, I have heard conversations about just getting off the grid and taking there chances. What happens to those people if they get caught? I know there is a fine per day for overstay, but these people don't have a lot of money.

Jail until they can pay the fine and pay the ticket out plus deportation.

Deportation means no return.

Arrest, detention in the Immigration cells at Suan Phlu,

appearance in court, probably with fine for overstay, then deportation.

Not to be recommended and illegal.
