I think the OP is spot on (I'm not saying everybody is a complete perve) - I am constantly, but discreetly of course, leering at all the hot crumpet in Thailand. And before all the do-gooders start berating me for my terrible attitude blah blah blah - the description used is of course tongue in cheek. I think it was compounded for me by spending 7 years working in remote islands off the coast of Burma. Sure, there were hot looking girls/women/chicky-babes there too - but dressed very conservatively, always. Flying from Bangkok to Rangoon can sometimes feel like flying back 50 years in many ways - no shopping malls, very conservative, no big fashion-conscious consumer economy (when I first moved there at least). This was in no way a negative, but just a stark contrast to Thailand. So after several months on an island, when I get on a plane and fly back to Bangkok - it is a huge sensory overload. Lots of attractive women walking around in attractive sexy clothing. I was (and still am) always conscious of the fact that my eyes were always wandering.
