Thai Friends And Thai Effiency

Featured Replies

Sunday I have a phone call to the UK. Landlady phoned my friend (Thai) to say my electricity had been cut off as I had not been and paid the bill (a week overdue). Monday he got in touch with the electic company and by afternoon the electricity supply was back on at the house ready for my arrival on Tuesday morning. Goes to show what a friend can do :o

Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. I paid the bill for my internet to TOT. That was also a week overdue and had been disconnected. By 5 p.m. the same day my internet connection was restored!!

The g/f father had my car valeted and wants nothing for it. (car was left at her parents house to be started occaisonally and kept safe).

I was picked up by my Thai friend from Swampy airport at 7 a.m. and he wanted nothing for the 500 kilometer round trip (my car, my fuel - his time and effort).

It is good to be back :D

u must treat them well! tell us more!

You get what you give...Nice job!

Life long friends are hard to find and sounds like your friends are prime example.

Kharma - good man! :o

Good to know.

But in many cases, you'd have to check the kilometer reading on your car and would see a lot more than the 500 km was mysteriously added onto the odometer.

We had the same experience. W'eve had house. Our neighbour paied the fire insurance for us every year, cut the grass once in a while, When we liked to sell the house she did looked for a buyer and cleaned up the house to make it presentable to sell. She even refused any commission. My wife had to force her very hard to accept some commission.

When we went to the Ampheu to change the deed of the house the buyer of the house tried to cheat us by pretending to have 2000 bath short. My wife told the buyer that we drove 200k and we wil not return back. Our neighbour said no problem Mae I will pay for her, and I will ask her back later.

Yes theire are some wonderful people in Thailand, and we are very fortunate to have some to be our friend.

Thailand, like every other country on this planet is full of friendly, helpful, honest & genuinely hospitable people, & I am not surprised by your experiences at all, because they mirror my own. As with any other country there are the good & the bad, & in recognition of this fact I make every effort to minimize my exposure to the less desirable elements, be they Thai or farang

Prepare yourself for the almost inevitable avalanche of negativity. :o
