i was wondering if anyone has recommendations on where to get "do-it-yourself" supplies (tools, materials) for construction work. i am living on koh phangan and don't know much neither koh samui nor surat thani. are there any large home centers? does anyone know how they compare in prices with the local hardware shops?

also, i am looking to obtain monocrystalline solar cells (not a panel), has anyone been successful? i found 4 solar panel manufacturers but they all sell panels only.

i am also looking for small motors to integrate into a wind turbine, any idea? the specs are low rpm (300 to 500) at 30-40V.

Samui has HomePro, in the Tesco complex.

There is also a large HomeMart in Maenam.

Plus many smaller DIY shops all over the island.

Prices ten to be a bit more in the smaller shops, so I've found.

Don't know about the other stuff.
