Visa For My Daughter - Ticket

Featured Replies

Hi! I am a filipina who has a 1 year contract here in Thailand. I planned to get my daughter in Phil. and bring her here in Thailand before end of Dec. this year. Do you think, it would be possible if I only buy her 1 way ticket or do I have to buy her a return ticket? And if you get any informations about this, maybe you could help me out..

Thank you!

What type of visa or extension of stay do you have?

If you are on an extension or a non-b visa with a work permit you could get her a 90 day non-o visa at the consulate which would not require a return ticket.

Otherwise you could try to get tourist visa for her at the consulate but reports are that the consulate will want to see a return ticket to get it.

If you do not get a visa she will need a return ticket.

Thanks.. I got the work permit. And do you know how long it takes to get her that visa at the consulate?

It shouldn't take more than a couple of days. Be sure you have a copy of her birth certificate for proof of relationship.

If you are on a 1 year extension you can get her an extension of her stay based upon yours at immigration here during the last 30 days of her permit to stay.

See 2.20 of this police order for requirements. Link: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/post-a70477-...ember-2008.html
