lampard10
This afternoon my computer crashed when I was called away. I restarted it, or tried, but all I get is a red light on the front, no power up. Anyone help?

lampard10
does the fan come on? Ah................................got it. No, and it is hot. New fan yeah? Thanks
opalhort
It could also be your power supply unit (PSU) which has quit. Open the PC and unplug the chassies/case fans (NOT THE CPU FAN!) and see if the PC starts up. If yes the fans are bad, if not get a new PSU. opalhort

opalhort
Is the fan of your PSU running? If not then there is your problem. A new PSU is in order. opalhort
astral
If you open the case up, there are usually some lights on the motherboard that will give an indication of a fault when a machine fails to start. However check that PSU first.
