Two Thai Prostitutes Murdered In Paris

So no story in English about this other than all the sniping going on here?

I've trawled the Internet and English press for more info, but not even the slightest mention in the media. Mind you with so many murders going on in the UK over the festive period, maybe this is not considered to be big news.

Sad!

Cheers, Rick

Those who so strongly support the commercial sex industry in Thailand would never for an instance support brothels and street walkers in Tonbridge Wells - heaven forbid, and there would even be letters to the editor of the Times. Bloody hypocrites.

I strongly support entertainment establishments in Thailand or Tonbridge Wells.

I have long supported the argument for legalisation so such services can be properly controlled and maintained. Thailand does not quite achieve that (because prostitution is illegal) but it is better focussed than the UK. Many European countries have dedicated locations for girls to operate in.

My UK base is not far from Ipswich where five prostitutes were murdered 2 years ago. Would this have happened had proper 'fit for purpose' licenced/controlled premises been available ? No one can say, but if they had I think most of those girls would probably be alive today

However, many members of this board (myself included) feel that Thai prostitutes do not represent Thai women. Some memebers feel Thai prostitutes are normal members of society and do represent the average Thai woman and that is really sad. Prostitution whether it's here or in Tonbridge Wells is immoral. Is that 'bashing' Thai women? I think only a fool, or a daft fool married to a prostitute (same as a fool) would think so.

Sex for monetary favors has been a big part of the culture here for centuries and most Thai men who can afford it have more than one wife - whom they call "little wives" and who recieve money for their pleasures. It is considered normal and in no way "immoral" in the Western sense. Many Thai women are involved with men who are not their official husbands, but support them with cash. Of course, these women are normal members of society.

The hypocrites are the self-righteous, bumbling imbeciles that insist on coming over to Asia trying to change everything so that it is like back home. Thank God, this ain't the Church of England! :o

I agree with you that there are many different types of prostitute in Thailand.

Mia noi, mia luang are probably terms most members are familiar with. One of these relationships that farang men should know about before becoming involved in a relationship with a Thai prostitute is Mia Chaow. A Mia Chaow is translated as 'rented wife'. When a farang buys a girl out of a bar, so that he has companionship during his 2 week holiday in Pattaya, he doesn't understand, but all Thais do, that his 'girlfriend' is a Mia Chaow. Mia Chaow relationships can often endure for many years and may involve a marriage ceremony but all the time the woman knows exactly the terms and conditions of this 'love' affair: no finance, no romance. She may move to the UK but her husband back in Thailand still expects the dead-buffalo payments to be transferred regularly. Often the farang man is very happy and the woman performs her duties professionally. A match made in Pattaya - rowMANtik

Did you wake up this morning and make a conscious decision to be a sanctimonious and condescending <deleted>?

I agree and lets not forget that many prostitutes do not voluteer to do this, but are forced into it by unscrupulous gangs/pimps. If it was legalised and controlled as i believe it is in Germany, maybe the gangs would move onto something else and the girls would be safer. The fact is that prostitution has been around for centuries and is not going to disappear any time soon whatever we think or say about it.

"I think the first half of Animatics post pretty much says it all.

Dlock if you want to disrespect a person because of their station in life i honestly believe you have to walk in their shoes for a while, otherwise you have only stereotypes and suppositions upon which to base your thoughts.

That sir is the true cop out and taking the easy way.

Incidentally i know a couple of women who have sold their bodies for sex because they genuinely believed it was the only way for them to support their families. Who are we to judge their choices without having the same concerns and pressures on us."

I am disrespecting no-one for their "station" in life. I choose not to respect women who make choices I believe are immoral.

You knew 2 women who "genuinely believed" that this was the fastest, easiest way to make money. The lame excuses that people keep throwing up to rationalize these poor choices astounds me. They have choices. They make bad ones. If you are ok with their history and motives, then that's terrific.

But I wonder why every one of these girls tells their families they work in a hotel or as a tour guide. Why do you suppose that is?

OK, UG you love prostitutes. How many posts are you going to write stating this? Most married farang men in Thailand have married women whose business is not to marry farang. You know, a relationship. Get out a bit more mate.

I hate to tell you this, but a whole lot of these 'virtuous" women that you are talking about have stumbled on the rosy path a time or two before finding their knight on a white horse. I have seen many ladies who only worked a season or two and then decided to get serious and find a farang husband. There are many more who have only worked in the Thai industry where they are almost invisible to Westerners and no one ever mentions it.

I have always wondered if that fear is the real reason why many of their husbands are so hateful towards women in the business.

Mostly because it is not true. Many of them don't hide it from their families and sometimes their families ask them to do it to get them out of debt.

Many of you are eager and happy to compare apples and oranges. In the western countries a woman's husband abandons her and runs away. The social network takes over and feeds her and her children. The run a way husband WILL be found and he will either pay support or go to jail.

Just this week my wife has given money to a lady and her children. Her husband ran off and took every baht with him. What is his wife going to do? No education and she is from a VERY poor family. I was the bad guy and refused to take them in. This lady can't pay her rent and has no way to make a living especially in this sad economy. Her family will share their shack with her but they certainly can't support her and the children. The lady has already said that she can do nothing except to go to Bangkok and find a bar to work in. I too feel sorry for her but I'm NOT willing to share our home with her and the children.

No one on this forum has faced a situation like that nor do they have any idea of how they would handle it. You better than thou people better be thankful that you were lucky enough to be born in much better circumstances. Some of you are disgusting.

You're not willing to help...but you're willing to defend her CHOICE of renting her body as the only option.

Pot...meet kettle.

Well DLock, I'm perfectly willing to tell her where you live so you can be one of those great moral saviors and take care of her and the children so she doesn't have to go rent her body. Kindly give me your address and I'll make sure to pay her fare to get her and her children to your home.Thank you for your compassion.

OK, boys - it's time for the insults to stop now. The topic is about the possibility of two Thai prostitutes being murdered in Paris, not a general discussion on prostitution and bargirls which, as you all know from your regular perusal of forum rules, is not permitted. Keep on topic or be quiet.

Speaking as someone who knows this person personally, I can tell you that the crime was not racially motivated (IMHO). While David is racist (based on various conversations with him), especially concerning colored and/or Asian women, I never knew him to actively search out confrontation with either group.

The news articles state hat he had been in a stable relationship for the last three years. That is possible, since he left Luxembourg almost three years ago after his restaurant went bankrupt and he disappeared with the available funds. As of a year ago, he was not working at the Italian restaurant in Roser, but I have not been there in a year, so I do not know when he started work again there.

I my OPINION, the girls asked for a different amount than what he thought he should pay and he settled the discussion with a knife. Racially motivated, no, just a crime of opportunity perpetrated by a racist.
