Border Crossing At Aranya Prathet

Featured Replies

I need to do a 'permit of stay' run from Bangkok by January 1st to get 15 days that will keep me legal in Thailand until I fly home on the 13th of January. I am considering making my 'run' to either Mae Sot or Aranya Prathet and would like up to date advise on which would be a better choice. If the border at Aranya Prathet is curently open, that would be my first choice, as I can make a day trip of it from Bangkok. I couldn't find any up to date info on this crossing and with the recent friction between Thailand and Cambodia, I thought I better consult with the minds at Thai Visa. I've done both routes in the last year and don't need 'travel advise', but rather any tips or warnings about recent closures or difficulties encountered at the borders. I would be needing to get a Cambodian visa at the border if I go that route. Thanks for any and all advise. siamiam

All Cambodia border crossings are open. No problems reported.

Asking on behalf of a mate. If he went with Jack Golf to Poipet and got 15 more days, does he have to show a plane ticket out of LoS or has that been done away with?

No, he doesn't need to show a plane ticket (with Jack Golf)

To siamiam: Jack Golf's services are closed on January 1st
