December 30, 200817 yr I'm looking for Sodium Carbonate (2NaHCO3). Anyone knows where I can buy it or under wich name it is sold.Living Pattaya - Sattahip region. Thank You. Do you mean NaHCO3 (sodium bicarbonate) or Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate)? The former can be used as an antacid, the latter would likely leave you feeling quite ill if ingested.
December 31, 200817 yr It's sold in supermarkets as baking soda. What do you want it for? I hope it's for baking. Using it as an antacid, while effective, is NOT a good idea. The antacid effect is not limited to your tummy, it is systemic. This means that habitual use of it can screw up your body chemistry/blood pH and make you extremely ill, potentially lethally so.
December 31, 200817 yr One of the active ingredients in Alka-Seltzer and baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, which has been around for years. Maybe you should write to them kathy. It goes without saying that with any medicine, you should stick to the prescribed dose. Habitual and overuse of any drug can be dangerous eg overdosing on paracetamol is also lethal. You may also be able to get sodium bicabonate in a pharmacy although it has various uses; not quite sure what you want it for.
January 1, 200917 yr Bicarb Soda has many uses: Bicarb Soda (Pure) Mouthwash Receipe 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon bicarb soda 4 cups water (1 litre) Make fresh each day For those worried that this is a home receipe - Not so it is a recommended receipe for cleansing your mouth whilst receiving radiation treatment to the head and neck area.
January 1, 200917 yr Oddly enough just today I was reading that you can heat baking soda and water and use it as paint remover. A an eco friendly one too http://www.creativequiltgirl.com/2008/07/reusing/

A an eco friendly one too http://www.creativequiltgirl.com/2008/07/reusing/ Great tip - why not go one step further and spray the hinges with a clear laquer so they don't tarnish/dull with time, just a thought
