What Question(s) Do They Ask At Immigration?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'd like to know if immigration ask a lot of questions when people enter with a tourist or visa-free, especially for those doing visa-run or coming back often.

Thank you.

:o To Thai Visa.

I don't recall any posts from members that would answer your questions.

I am sure others will answer from their own personal experiences.

Over the last 5 years I have arrived probably 30 times on a mixture of non imm o visa, tourist visa, and visa exempt, and have never been asked 1 question by Thai immigration.

"Take off your sunglasses please"

" Look into the camera "

" take off your hat please"

" Are you single "

"Do you have a mobile number"

These are the ones I can remember.

Apart from one memorable incident shortly after the 90 day rule for visa exemptions was introduced I can't recall ever exchanging more than two words (good-morning/afternoon/evening and thankyou) with the immigration people at Swampy (I don't do border runs so I can't comment on land crossings).

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

:o Been coming here since 1986 by air & land never been asked any question at all

Back in my visa run days I also was never asked anything. As long as your passport is in order (empty pages, proper validity) nothing to worry about.
