Can Someone Please Answer My Question!

Featured Replies

I am currently on a tourist visa and needing to apply for a Non B. I am living in the South and have been told by Thai staff that I can go to Bangkok to apply for this. Is this possible????? I have previously been on a Non B visa and had to go to Lao and apply for this which is why i cam confused when they have told me to go to Bangkok to do it.

Thank you very much to the person who can help me as I don't want to make the trip for nothing and then be overdue.

Have a look at the Immigration website. Click on Change Visa. Then click on "For work or Business"

http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/ba...hp?page=service

BTW. This only works if you are using Internet Explorer. :o

Thanks for that but i still have no answer.

I got as far as For work or Business and the book went red but nothing happens. This is on Mozilla and the link can't be found on Internet Explorer.

Any suggestions

Sorry, I have managed to open that file. Although I am not sure if this answers my question as it says I have to submit an application 21 days before my visa expires. My visa expires in 18 days and am not sure i need to apply for a 'change of visa'.

I am wanting to apply for a Non B and is this possible in Bangkok. Thanks heaps.

No. You can change your Tourist Visa if you have at least 21 days remaining on it. You only have 18 so you will have to go to a Consulate in a neigbouring country.

Thanks Lite Beer.

But I don't want to change my visa. I want to apply for a Non B and is this possible to do in Bangkok?

Nope you can't change your visa in Thailand you will have to go out the kingdom to do this with all the correct paperwork from the company that is going to employ you

Lite Beer showed you the right way to get a non-B. Since you have less then 18 days remaining, you cannot convert. There is no other way then getting one outside of Thailand at a Thai embassy or consulate.

Unless you can get a 30 day extension of stay on your tourist visa and then convert. For that you need not to be on an extension already. Convertion means that your tourist visa will be changed to a non-B.

Thanks heaps. I am glad I came on here because if I listened to my Thai staff adviser it would have been bad. Should have known she has no idea as last time I went to apply she told me the office in Penang would be open and then it wasn't and I had to apply for a tourist visa grr Thankyou:)

Thanks Lite Beer.

You can't get (apply for) an original Non-Immigrant visa inside Thailand, including Bangkok or anywhere else. Only a Thai consulate outside Thailand can issue visas. Immigration inside Thailand can convert/change a visa or extend your permitted to stay date if you meet the conditions.

u may get a non-b visa again i u have an employer. ur employer will provide u w/ all the supporting docs, then immigration will give u the 1st 3mths non-b visa. if u had non-b visa before, same procedure have to be done. goodluck.

Once you get your Non B Visa you can apply for annual extensions at Immigration if you meet the requirements.

With a valid visa you don't need to show a return ticket to gain entry into Thailand.

The best I can find is another post from September indicating that it is not possible to get a 12 month Multi Non B Visa from Singapore.http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Non-Multi-En...gapore+business

Sorry but you will not get it in Penang unless you meet new requirments. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/1-Year-Non-V...ng-t231571.html

bugger, well i hate Pennang anyway,,maybe i just fire my self and the imaginary thai staff I pay tax for put the partner down as sole thai director and do 30 day trips to singapore for a sanity check.

There no bloody business to do anyway.

hey its a plan!

Sorry for being so negative.. They seem to be reluctant to issue 12 month Visas expecting people to apply for 12 month extensions at Immigration in Thailand.

Good Luck.

The owner of the yacht wants me to sail it to Turkey in Feb, I can think of a better time to take a sabatical maybe when i return in 3 months these idiots might have woken up to trying to make life a little easier for those of us that have chosen to invest in this tin pot nation.
