Marriage extension is 400,000 in a Thai bank or 40,000 monthly income. No combination.

and NO joint accounts either. Applicant's name only. I wish a mod would pin the EXACT requirements about an extension and its requirements.

Still waiting for Ubonjoe's report back from Immi :o

The problem being that there are no exact requirements. Every Immigration Ofice will have their own requirements.

You are correct that most offices will not allow a Joint Bank Account.

I know, LB. It's just so dam_n frustrating at times!!

I am also waiting for somebody who has used a combined deposit in the past to report if he could continue doing so at SuanPlu.

Our combined account may have to be moved into a new one in my name not later than early Feb to satisfy the new rules, but I would like to avoid this since it is a 12months fixed deposit and I would lose quite some interest in doing so.

The old rules are not grandfathered anymore, only till 25 November can you make use of the old rules. For your upcoming extension you should be OK, but for the next one you need to transfer your funds. Although you might be lucky at your own immigration office.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

I know that. I know it backwards. What I am saying is that we are not given the real, actual and EXACT requirements. It doesn't mention:

1. It can't be in a joint a/c

2. You need photos of you and wife in the house

3. A map of your residence

Looking at the website below, where does it mention my 3 points above which are required?

(1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM)

(2) Proof of family relationship

(3) In the case of a spouse, the marital relationship shall be de

jure (legitimate) and de facto;

(4) In the case of a child, adopted child or child of his/her spouse, the said person must not be married, must be living with the family, and must be less than 20 years of age; or

(5) In the case of a parent, one of parents must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit of not less than 400,000 baht for expenses within a year.

In other necessary circumstances, The Immigration Commissioner or Deputy of Immigration Commissioner may approve on case to case basis.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

If you went to Imm with only the above (1-6), they'd laugh at you and throw you out telling you to come back with 'the rest'. What rest? It's not mentioned anywhere. They just fob you off with shit to keep you in the dark. :o
