Capturing Audio

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if this device will work to capture audio from a source such as UBC:

http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/P...ure+for+Mac.htm

It says it will capture video and convert it into MP4. What would happen if you are tuned to the audio (music) channels on UBC? Would the files be MP3? If not, could they be converted to MP3?

Is there another device or way to save the audio files?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Use a 3,5mm to RCA cable. Plug the cable either into the back of your UBC box or the audio out on your TV. The 3,5mm cable will go into your computer's line in jack. Fire up Sound Recorder or grab Audacity. IIRC, Sound Recorder will record to *.wav, which you'll have to convert. Audacity will record to pretty much any format you want.

Yep, no problem. Sometimes the easiest way is the best way....
