CHINA HAS lifted its travel advisory warning to tourists about Thailand, opening the doors to world's biggest market again for Phuket and the Andaman, Phuketwan has learned.

The change in policy, confirmed today by the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok, comes as Thailand introduces a range of measures designed to boost tourism.

Among the most significant:

..the removal of all visa fees for three months;

..national park entry fees waived for two years;

...airline landing and departure fees lowered by 20 per cent and 50 per cent respectively. The landing fee for chartered flights will be reduced by half.

The moves come with the Chinese New Year holiday about to begin.

I feel a lot safer in Thailand than in America.

You may "feel it" but actually its not.....A lot of visitors here feel safer because they don't understand what is going on around them or understand the cultural differences that well which if handled incorrectly can become very nasty very very quickly and the emergency services infrastructure is just not there to handle an issue quickly or efficiently as in a western country.

Thailand is not safer but gives the impression it is.....false sense of security.
