Is it possible for anyone to get a non imm o visa in Asia?

If so where?

Or is Australia advised?

Just got one in Laos. Not multi-entry, when I asked about getting a multi they reckoned I could get a year non imm o multi in BKK immagration(provided I turned up with a three month one already). Going there next week to find out.

No BKK Immigration cannot issue Visas including Non Imm O Mullti Visas.

I do not know what he meant. He said that Bangkok Immigration will give him a 12 month Multi Non O Imm Visa. Hopefully he will come back and clarify. Because they will not.

It depends upon what basis you are able get it upon.

Marriage, to visit a child and over 50 are possible.

Other than that it is Australia for you.

They are were not telling you that you can get a visa. It will be an extensions of stay if you can meet the qualifications for it. The multi entry would be a re-entry permit after you get the extension.

Also if you do not live in Bangkok you will not get it there.

Requirements being.

Retirement 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank OR 65,000 Baht monthly income OR a combination of the two.

Married to a Thai Lady. 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank OR 40,000 Baht monthly income.

I'm under 50 yoa and not married in law but I do have a child with my Thai 'wife'.

I'm currently here on a 2 month extension to 'visit my son'.

Some say I can get a non imm o in Penang, others say cannot.

Thanks Bedbuggy, But I think for that one I'd need to be over 50 yoa.

I am under the impression that you can do the same exact thing (convert to an O VISA from a 30 day stamp or tourist visa for the purpose of a subsequent application for an annual retirement extension) at most any immigration offices IN Thailand.

There are a lot of Visa Agents in Penang. They will know the up to date news as they are at the Consulate every day.

This is one of them. You can always contact him and ask his advise. They may issue one based on your Thai Child.

You can get a multiple entry in Penang using an agent. You will need to show some money in a Thai bank account. You could get a single at most other consulates also.

If you want to stay long term it is also possible to get a 1 year extension if you can show 40,000 baht per month income or 400,000 baht in a Thai bank.
