Short ride ... where you get that idea. So I guess people want start early and get back to Phuket in time for a shower, drink, dinner & more drinks. PST Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 I hire a car and leave from patong at 5am,this ensures i get to the andaman club pier at 8.15am in order to catch the first boat at 8.45am.I usually arrive back in patong between 1.30-2.30pm. If you left for ranong at say 11am,you would not get there much before 3pm (on the bus),and would not return until 9-10pm. Either way,its a 12 hour round trip by bus,9-10 hours by car. PST. Rango Posted February 1, 2009 Share Posted February 1, 2009 i dont fly and 9am is way too early for meI didnt chose a life of leisure to wake up early you want the leisurely way, then rent a car and drive up there. Its a lovely drive really. The visa run to andaman club is quick. There are several small hotels and bungalow operations around town. The real prize for doing it independently is that you can spend time at the several hot springs and waterfalls along the way back. Makes for a very cool overnight excursion, especially if you take a Thai girl along. It isn't a cheap as the Visa Run Services, but alas, leisure has its price.
