Directions

Featured Replies

Hi all, In 3 weeks I will be moving from udon thani to chiang mai and I was wondering if anyone has the best driving directions for me?

I will have to move myself and my stuff by car. I will miss Isaan but I guess I will enjoy Chang Mai also.

thanks in advance

rick

According to my GPS, the fastest route is;

210 to Nong Bua Lamphu. 228 to Chumpae. 12 to Pitsanaluk. 11 the rest of the way to Chiang Mai. 700 kilometers and 11 plus hours driving time.

Checking the shortest distance will save about 80 kilometers but will take over an hour longer. Unless you like the curvy mountain roads you would be best advised to take the fastest route.

Agree.But Route 12 is dangerous by night too!

Yes, route 12 is pretty curvy too but the road itself is good. Route options are very limited east and west.
