Possible To Work In Thailand With A British Virgine Island Work Contract?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Thank you for reading and maybe tell me what you know and think :D

I've been offered to work on a boat for a company established in the British Virgine Islands and I would have a work contract from this company. The boat is based in a marina in Thailand but under BVI flag.

-WHAT KIND OF VISA DO I NEED TO WORK AND STAY IN THAILAND?

-What is the status of such a position?

I'm a 31 years old man, franco-swiss citizen (have both passport but now in Thailand with the swiss one), with a 2+1month single entry tourist visa.

Thank you for any help

:o

You need a work permit to work, and for that you need a Thai company as your employer. Once you have the work permit you can apply for an annual extension of stay for employment if you and your Thai employer meet the requirements.

Does your BVI employer work with a company in Thailand. If so, would this Thai company agree to put you on their payroll – with your BVI employer refunding them – and apply for your work permit?
