In Case Of Car Accident: Really Can't Move Car

Featured Replies

In case you get into even just a minor "fender bender" car accident... is it true that you really can't move the car until the cops arrive to make an "official report"?

Even if you're blocking traffic, etc. and everyone's honking?

Can't you just take a picture of the cars and accident scene, and then move your cars out of the way?

:o

The two accidents Ive been involved with neither party took pictures until going to the garage the next day and both drove off, but these were minor accidents.

Would Thaivisa Insurance, Peter, like to enlighten us on this?

To be able to claim from insurance, do we really need to wait for a cop to make a report before being allowed to move the car?

Or, can we just take photos using our mobile phones, and then be on our way?

:o

If nobody is injured then you can both move if you wish.

However you have to make sure both sides are happy with the arrangement and whoever caused the accident will agree to that if the other party wish's to claim.

Plenty of photos and witness statements to back up the claim are (very) useful and please do not forget copies of the ID's or passports of the witnesses – just in case the other party later decides to change their minds …………….
