Laptop Security

Featured Replies

My apartment was broken into over the holidays.

Lost a chunk of cash, credit cards and jewelry.

But I had my laptop with me .... thank goodness.

Now I am worried about it's security.

I have one of these dial number lock cabes that attaches

to the side and then loops around a hole in the furniture making

the thief either need a big wire cutter or take/break the chair.

But I can see it is easy to leverage it off at the case

no matter how tight I screw it in there. So this cable does

not seem to do much except look good.

Any suggestions on a better system of security ??

Laptops at an office, for example, seem pretty vulnerable if building

security is not excellent.

Thanks

Laptop leashes are worthless except for short time absence. I'd suggest a safe if you are really worried about losing it.

I agree with britm.

Find a digital safe just big enough for your laptop and a few extras, and too heavy for 2 small thieves. :o
