Problem In Obtaining One Year Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

I am 66 and live in phitsunalok. I am finding it increasingly difficult to get down to Bangkok each year to renew my one year retirement visa as I suffer from arthritic gout which is a progressive problem.

I usually fly to Bangkok then taxi to Suan Plue, which is difficult but manageable. now I am informed I have to go to Nan which as I have discovered is almost an impossible journey for me.

The local hospital have said I should not travel and would willingly give me a medical certificate but what of the immigration dept. do they make allowances for people like myself

regards david walker

It could be possible with a medical certificate and a notarized letter from you giving somebody permission to make the application for you you would not have to do it in person.

You should contact the office in Nan and ask them about this.

Contact Info for the Nan office.

I remember Sunbelt saying that you can do it by proxy if you cannot travel and have medical evidence.

All immigration forms have a section at the end where you can authorise a third party to

make the application on your behalf.

Remember to sign all the copies being presented, yourself.

When I was working I never went to Immigration in the whole of the 4 years. :o

Only twice to the Labour Dept, the first and last.
