Forum Should Have Mouse-over Preview

Featured Replies

When scrolling through a list of posts, a thread preview or first paragraph of the first post should be shown when the cursor is put on the thread title.

That way, ambiguous post titles or certain topics can be previewed before clicking or entering the thread, and makes it much easier to effectively browse or search the forum.

Most BBS programs have a preview of the topic given on mouse-over. See vBulletin, for example.

Please add that to this forum!

No, please no, :D that is the most annoying thing on any web-site and forums :o

Kan Win

or just maybe make it optional, who wants to activate makes it through their personal settings

Yes, yes, yes! And thread subscription (if it is already there, I haven't found it).

great idea !!!! :o

a real timesaver

lo fi version too please

Are people so pressed for time that they measure the difference in seconds? To click on a post and quickly scan down it takes a few seconds. One of the main reasons I came here was to get away from rushing about. :o

I for one find this type of software very annoying. Reading the topic title tells you what its about and now we also have tags! Or does reading the title and tag take too long ? :D

At the top of the first (O.P) post of any topic there is a drop-down box named "Options"

The first option is to "Track this topic"

That ought to do it for you, and if I recall it sends a notification to your email account when a new post is er.. posted.

Kayo.

PS: I agree that the preview is not such a bad idea. However, I've read many good posts, or just outrageously funny ones by reading a topic that starts out pretty bland. I think a lot of fun would be taken out by only reading a preview of the first post and not actually reading the thread through.

There's a preview add on in Firefox.

lo fi version too please

TV used to have a link to a lo-fi version at the bottom of the page which was handy on slow connections and mobile phones. It disappeared a couple of years ago. :o How about a return of lo-fi? Better still, how about a mobile optimised version of Thai Visa.
