The following link is a translation of a royal thai police order, regarding the documents you need to show when applying for an extension of stay:

http://www.norcham.com/attach_file/newsfile_215_200.pdf

Can somebody help with checking if this is an accurate translation of this police order:

http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/doc/RTP305_2551.pdf

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Can't open first PDF. Can open second PDF but it is long and of very poor quality. All up, can't directly help with your request.

However, Thai document lays out documents required when applying to stay in Thailand under a number of different scenarios eg. for business, study or to be with spouse. I didn't see anything referring to extension of stay as such, other than that the maximum period for which a visa can be granted (per time) is stipulated for each scenario. If you tell us what your particular circumstances are, perhaps we will be able to tell you the documents required to apply for a visa in your case.

to the OP (if you're interested): i was able to open the 305/2551 English document you posted at another thread. if you want to check the required documents listed therein for some particular category of visa, feel free to ask.

Thanks for your help, aanon.

The English version can be downloaded from here:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/post-a77473-.html

The documents lists the required documents you need for each kind of extension, but we would like to make sure the translation is accurate and nothing is missing. For eample, when married to a Thai you can get an extension based on an income of 40,000 OR 400,000 in the bank. The translation only mentions one of these methods. So the question is, does the Thai document doesn't mention the other method or is it forgotten I the translation?

The question is for a quick look if the provided translation is correct and nothing is missing.

(The requirements for an extension are in an other document, of which we already have several translations)

Thanks again.

Hey Mario2008,

The translation is good in the specific aspect you asked about. Note that the requirement is set up as an either/or proposition. Either you provide a copy of your bank account and a letter from the bank confirming the balance OR you provide the documents proving income of 40000 or up. So, both methods are mentioned but a minimum bank balance is not stipulated. This seems to be an oversight in the Thai document (or perhaps the required balance is well enough established in other legislation). The English translation simply preserves this omission.
