Lets say it was in the form of Farang vouchers that could be spent anywhere and everywhere in Thailand (redeemable for cash by the Thai person who accepted them), and expired in a month.

Go to dinner with the family and pay an extra 5000 to make it really great.

i would pave the dirt takraw court as a suprise for the local players, buy a dozen new balls and the rest on whiskey and beer. i'd probably have a 1000bht left in which i would give to the wife to shop. basically, i'd make sure all 5000 went directly back into the local community.
