March 7, 200917 yr US clocks change today The US and Canada "spring ahead" and shift to daylight-saving time on Sunday afternoon (Thailand time), as the North Americans lose an hour's sleep in order to gain an extra hour of evening sunlight. The effect of the change is to put US time one hour ahead relative to Thailand. Thus: when it is 5 o'clock in Thaland it will be: - 11 hours earlier or 6 o'clock in New York and Toronto, - 12 hours earlier or 5 o'clock in Chicago and Texas, and, - 14 hours earlier or 3 o'clock in Los Angeles and Vancouver. -- Bangkok Post 2009-03-08
