March 8, 200917 yr A while back, we were advised that (for copyright reasons) only the first three sentences from Bangkok Post articles could be reproduced in the forum - with a link to the Post's article for access to the complete article. Is this still a requirement for all posts - including OP's from George? The reason I ask is that the http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Thailand-Lac...et-t247721.html thread opens with what looks to be the full article - certainly way more than three lines. I did ask this in a report on that post, but got no answer. Not trying to nit-pick - just wanting clarification.
March 8, 200917 yr If you post a Bangkok Post article, please use only the two first chapter or two. Thanks.
March 9, 200917 yr What's the situation concerning reproductions from other publications? If the site has a copyright notice on it then obviously the article can not be posted in its entirety without permission from the author. However, fair use laws allow a part of it that highlights the subject's key point and not modified or re-phrased to be posted along with a link to the original article or other means of crediting. Though George is the definitive person to verify Thaivisa's stance and legalities on this.
March 9, 200917 yr http://www.feer.com/about/terms-and-conditions This is the link to the Far East Economic Review's terms and conditions. (just in case anyone copies the new Thaksin interview published today). As you can see in section 2, if its to be reproduced in a forum, written consent from the publisher is needed. Hope this helps. Never an easy task to jump through these publisher's hoops I realise.

This rule will actually reduce potential traffic to their site, plain dumb. Edited March 9, 200917 yr by Crossy "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
