Admaker Substitute Needed

I wanted to host a small dinner at AdMakers, Soi Lang Suan, but learned much to our dismay that the place doesn't exist anymore.

Can someone recommend a restaurant of similar style and price level?

Barn Khun Mae ( บ้านคุณแม่ ) in Siam Square.

Old rustic multi storied teak building , great food, good prices , heaps of room for groups of all sizes, private rooms also.

Been going there 13 years, never let down once.

Music is different to Ad Makers, traditional thai instruments played live...but Hard Rock is only a few mins walk if you want live pop/rock after dinner.

You might try Log Cabin at Thonglor and soi 18. Good music, food is pretty good and prices are reasonable. I also liked the old Admaker and thought they moved over near Sathorn. Haven't been there in a while though.

I like the band called "Balloon" that performs at Log Cabin but there are several other good ones.

Try Saxophone Pub & Restaurant, near the Victory Monument. Similar to but more sophisticated atmo than at the old Lang Suan Admakers location, but better food and more musical variety. I don't remember so much what the prices at Admakers were, as I stopped going there after hearing the same songs over and over (which is what probably part of what made it great for other people).

I couldn't agree more. The place is opened for more than 25 years, great service, food is pretty good (try the fish), great jazz and blues music, reasonably priced and the entire venue has some kind of character to it that just makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in

I do like this restaurant and go there every once in a while, although I do think they overcook the chicken in their chicken dishes, making it a little tough.

Why not pick up a cheap copy of The Eagles' Greatest Hits, sit in a starkly lit barn and eat microwaved wieners from 7-Eleven? Surely that would recreate the quintessential Admakers experience?

(Only joking! Kind of)

I have the same approach for girly bars....i just stay at home, get a beer and a red spy from 7-11, drink the beer, throw away the red spy, turn the stereo up really loud for 5 mins, jerk off, then go to bed :o

Never went to Admakers before they closed, but there is a place called the Front Page on Sala Daeng Soi 2 (just off Rama IV) that might be close. At least the names have newspaper themes.

Quake at the end of Lan Suan seems to have picked up the AdMaker business. They even have AdMaker's house band playing there now. Inside looks almost the same. But I don't know about the food. Also, I was walking by last Thursday night and the place was completely empty. But the previous Friday it was packed. I don't know if that means business is going down or if it was just a strange night.

I also agree with Log Home on Thong Lor. Same vibe.
