Bankruptcy/marriage

Featured Replies

Did a quick search of the site. Came up nil.

Anyway... If an American (man) is married to a local gal. Will anyone be able to touch her assets if he declares bankruptcy in the US.

Would it make a difference if they are only married in Thailand. (Not US)

Thanks in advance.

My friend had problem with IRS and didn't pay tax 3 years... his bride went to USA married in NY (license) then they back to thailand.. and stay on normal visa RUN HERE. He was close to bankruptcy if he didn't disclose some agreement with IRS.

IN YOUR CASE... usa embassy seems to find anyone even in thailand... so if you have a wedding reception but NOT THAI MARRIAGE LICENSE ... you can survive this .... Unless your local gal took off with every penny since everything is in her name.

I HAVE ANOTHER FRIEND..WHO HAS THE OPPOSITE issue... he's in usa financially ok..but she's filed bankruptcy in thailand (a thai business woman)... this case no one could help becuase it's 50M and bank asia close her case at 20million baht (no point try to pay).

.... anyone can advice on both case? any comment?
