I recently upgraded my webserver to Apache 2 (from Apache 1). This is not exactly my area of expertise, but lets just say I have been a bit disapointed with Apache 2 in terms of its resource utilisation and stability. So I thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with alternative webservers.

Anyone using Lighttpd, Thttpd or something else? I'm looking for something that is highly efficient, secure and solid as a slab of granite. No fancy features required, although it must work with PHP.
