Chemical waste disposal plant in Samut Prakan catches fire

SAMUT PRAKAN: -- A fire broke out at a chemical waste disposal plant here early Thursday morning, causing Bt8 million worth of damages, police said.

Police said the fire broke out at the Bang Pu Environmental Complex Co Ltd in the Bang Pu Industrial Zone at 4:30 am.

Ten fire engines took over the hour to control the blaze.

Police said the fire broke out inside the chamber for moving the chemical garbage into a furnace and the blaze quickly spread to the office on the fourth floor and the control room on the fifth floor.
