Wedding Planner & Caterers

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My Fiance and I are getting married in Nakhon Pathom (30 Minutes West of Bangkok) in November. We currently live in Australia and will not be returning to Thailand until a week before the wedding. I do not want to burden her parents with the organising of the wedding so I was wondering if anyone knows of any good companies that will do it for us. Initially I did not think many of my family and firends would come over to Thailand for it but quite a few are.

At the moment i know the ceremony will be held in the morning at my fiances parents home followed by some lunch afterwards. It is my understanding that this is important to her parents that this occurs.

In the evening we are looking at having a reception outside somewhere.

Does anyone know of a good and reasonably priced company that would provide the following:

Flowers and Decorations

Hire of table and chairs

Catering

In the evening we pretty much want someone to organise everything from set up to pack up so we can enjoy the night.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It's a Thai wedding, let the family do it. They'll lose face if they don't, in my opinion. Also your family & friends will be able to say that they've been to an authentic Thai wedding. A bonus.

Hi Coventry,

The morning ceremony and lunch will be traditional Thai and will be organised by my in laws to be and also myself and my finace when we return before the wedding.

Because I do not want to burden her parents too much my fiance has suggested using a company to do the organising for the evening but keeping the morning completely traditional. She has found a lot of companies on the internet but i just wondered if any one else has used one before and if so what were they like.

Cheers

Hi bat69,

I'd recommend a talk with your fiancee, to make absolutely sure that her family don't want to organise both morning & evening events. It's normally a big family occasion, can't help but think your lady is trying to please both you and her family.

Usually relatives come from all over thailand, and the preparation is half of the fun. The female relatives all work together preparing the food, while the men organise seating, tables etc, which in our case were hired from the local temple.

I left everything to my wife's family, and all was fine.

Hope everything works out for you both.

I have been to few where the caterers have done everything. If they set uo at you in laws home, and if the do what my wife calls a Chinese table,it's about 1500 a table. We have just been to one that was held at a conference centre. That one I was told was 2400 a table. I don't know how much entertainment costs
