I got a few questions, I work offshore and dont have alot of time to reasearch the net to find the answers.

Im American, Not married to a Thai, Dont have any business there, But do have a Thai National Girlfriend, and Im 25 Years old, if that matters.

1. Can a US Passport Holder go to Aus and get the 1 year Non Imm O to visit friends?

2. If so, How long will I have to stay in Aus to get it? (currently trying to make plans now)

3. With this visa, can I get a Thai Drivers Liscence, and put motorcycle green books in my name?

4. I read a few threads about this topic, but, is there anything special that I need to bring to get the visa?

Thats all I got for now.

I am not 100% sure about US passport holders but I know it is quiet easy to get one in Perth.

There is no special conditions or prove of money in the bank. Just fill in the form, bring your passport

and a couple of passport photos and maybe an inventation letter from any body over here in LOS.

The consulate is open only Tuesdays and Thursdays, apply on Tuesday morning and you can pick up the visa on Thursday

I dont really have good access to a phone where I am, so I cant call The Thai Consulate there in Perth, so I was just wondering if any members have had any personal experiances doing this. Specifically, if they are not Austrailian.
