March 30, 200917 yr I am in UK now, so should I get my first nonO visa (visit friends) here now, or will it be easy for me to get one in malaya/laos/cambodia in a couple of months after I've done a bit of travelling?
March 31, 200917 yr The consulate in Hull will give you a multi entry (1 year) non O visa. Done by post, you'll have it in 3-4 days. See http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/ They are reported to be very visa-friendly! Edited March 31, 200917 yr by jamesjdaly
March 31, 200917 yr You will not obtain such a visa anywhere in the local (Thailand) area. Hull is one of the few places that will issue for visiting friends.
March 31, 200917 yr I would suggest you do as has been recommended(Hull Consulate). You have received acurate & sensible advice here. Trust me. most of us have been there, done that. Dave

Dave Thanks the only difference it makes is that I will be in and out of thailand until mid june, and I can use ordinary visas for that. I read on here that AFTER the first non-O visa, you could get another in say penang or maybe in thailand, and I wanted to check the current legislation and requirements
March 31, 200917 yr You have to meet the requirements each and every time when making application for a visa.
March 31, 200917 yr Author so I can assume that I'm NOT going to be able to get my first non O visa(visit friends) outside UK?
March 31, 200917 yr so I can assume that I'm NOT going to be able to get my first non O visa(visit friends) outside UK? Maybe a couple of Consulates in Germany, Holland. Perth in Australia. Get it in UK. It can be stretched out to 15 months.
April 1, 200917 yr KL and Penang are the best in the area for Non O visas, but you have to be married to a Thai to even try for this. Perth will issue with one if you could prove you had a Thai boy/girl friend. Post to Hull. It's painless, easy and worry-free. Alternatively, I've heard Vientiane are handing out free double entry tourist visas . These are good for nearly 6 months. A Non O multi is good for 15 months. How long do you want to stay here?
