Is anyone using csloxinfo 4096/512 package. How is the service and more importantly the speeds especially internationally?

Any feedback appreciated.

It depends in which area you are located. I used to have this package for a while and the international speed was never more than 3MB!

Sometimes very much less than that. Sometimes snail speed. Don't forget all these home "high speed" packages are shared bandwidth with a very high user ratio.

I assume your phone carrier is TOT. So, make sure your line is capable for 4mb! To have a phone line available does not mean you can receive unlimited bandwidth with it!

And now we come to the service. I am with CSloxinfo for almost 12 years and I confirm they do care about customers! Sometimes the customer support

can be annoying specially at nighttime when you try to get through but they try to help and from my own expediencies they call you back the next day if you ask for that.

You should be aware about a 4096/512 package translated into plain English means UP TO 4096/512

Some remark at the very end. I don't know your budget. Consider a 2 MB SME package. Yes, it cost more but it might save you from a lot of disappointment you will face when it comes to the

announced speed compared with the actual speed your line will deliver to your modem/router...

Above comments are based on my experiences.

I live near HappyLand, Bangkapi. I have Loxinfo 2048/512 and my throughput leaves a lot to be desired. Am thinking about trying True 8-megabit on my True phone line.

Cheers,

If loxinfo cannot even manage 4096/512. I have severe doubts that the True 8mb product will be anything worth having.

although having said that it may tempt a lot of loxinfo users to change to True and therefore freeing up bandwidth on loxinfo improving the service for us :o

I can actually max out my TOT 2048/512 connection at the moment with downloads at 220kb/sec so I have hope that the loxinfo will allow me also at 440kb/sec or so using 10 download connections to a server.

I agree with you.

Once again my advise. Everybody should be aware about a xxxx/512 package translated into plain English means UP TO xxxx/512

I have my doubt this policy will be viewed different by other providers. They all use the same hook to catch customers. I am more than pleased to learn it is opposite from my opinion.

Please refrain to mention leased lines as proof... :D

CSlox is nonsense, they intentionally throttle all the Home package bandwidth to the SME package gateway during peak hours..

How do you know this? Have they stated that? I cannot believe they would get away with that. I know they have a smartadsl home package that does that during peak times but didnt think the other pacakges did that.

That was my question to the poster too but your reply came faster. But I ask as well.

From whom you got the information "they intentionally throttle all the Home package bandwidth" ?

As far as I am informed they are in the process of increasing bandwidth! So please state the source for this information. Personally I like unbiased information.

Thanks

Hi,

I had the 2048/512 Home Package, Mon-Fri the speed was horrible! Sat-Sun was great all day long. After a month of this I called and the guy told me that the 2mb link in my area was full and that's why it was slow. He suggested I move up to the SME 1024/512, I said what the hel_l, give it a shot. It is now fast all the time, usually get 800-900 international. The only problem they have never been able to solve yet is the speed my adsl connects at, always random numbers, like 1019/509. I have tried 4 different modems, anyone possibly know what would cause this?

I think its from 8am -> 7pm on weekdays that its throttled... Put a bandwidth monitor on the line and you will see your throughput tick over like clockwork at these hours :o

Thanks for the info. I am amazed that they are allowed to get away with that as the products are sold as "4096/512" not "4096/512 after 7pm until 8am."

If they are actually doing that and not stating so then in my mind that is a total breach of contract.

Now I am in a dilemma which provider for reliable 4096/512 24 hours a day!

The SME package would be ok @ b7k per month.. You probably get a pretty consistent 3Mbit's, as for using home packages, forget about it...

Its written in their service agreement that they don't guarantee international bandwidth.. :D

PS.. Another way to test it is with VoIP

Try making a call at 6.55pm, you'll be lucky for it to so much as ring.. Then try @ 7.01pm you'll get a crystal clear call :o

SME it is. Will try bargain them down a bit. I still think undisclosed throttling of the bandwidth without informing customers it will take place, is a pretty poor show and makes me question their customer care somewhat.

Downloading now on TOT 2048/512 goldcyber connection as I type this at 215KB/s - so is it fair to say that TOT is a better provider than csloxinfo in that case????????

Scenario: Rain, heavy wind and a TOT crap wire line...

What is SME?

I have spent ages on the CSloxinfo sites and can not find a pricing plan for it. (Only for IPstar SAT, which is not the same)

It sound more reliable for what I have read here.

Anyone have any links?

TOT international ping is 623ms compared to cslox at 241ms. Would make the Cslox feel snappier.
