April 1, 200917 yr We have a new (Foreign) marketing manager, who has just got her work permit. Immigration refused to process her one year visa application until all documents relating to the company (List of Shareholders, 3 month withholding tax, VAT returns, End of year audited accounts and more I believe) are certified by the respective government departments. In our case my office will effectively close tomorrow while several key staff disappear in different directions off to the various government entities to get these documents certified. One has to go to Nontaburi. I believe this came in around 20th march. To me it seems a monumental waste of time and energy - anyone know the thinking behind this? Or is my HR girl pulling a fast one? She pointed out that the visa "agents" are looking like better value every day!
April 1, 200917 yr Whilst I don't know the "thinking" behind this, I can confirm that my employer was also required to provide these documents for my work permit and non immi B extension. (you may get more responses to your post by moving this out of the motoring forum and into the immigration/visa forum)
April 3, 200917 yr Author Just heard from the staff who went to all the government offices to have documents notarized. Apparently Immigration is not flavour of the month as this requirement has given them extra work!
April 3, 200917 yr Immigration requirements for 1 year extensions of stay are well reported on this forum and in the immigration rules. Business extensions of stay always require all sorts of documentation from an actual ongoing business, no surprise there.
