sriracha john Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Sheesh.... the height of hypocrisy. The Thai prostitutes damage Brunei's reputation, but not the Brunei customers?.... or we all the "John's" from Thailand as well???

I think they are talking about damaging Thailand's reputation here, not Brunei's, SJ? But still I agree there is hypocrisy involved.
sriracha john Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Hmmm... in re-reading it, I guess you're right; but not sure how damaging it is to Thailand's rep.... Dolt#1: "Did you hear? Thailand has prostitutes?" Dolt#2: "Really?... I never knew that."

natalie8 Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 My parents lived and worked in Brunei for 11 years. as mch as we have a saying here - This is Thailand, we could create a motto for Brunei. The hush hush atmosphere is far more extreme there.

It's just a bloody show to satisfy hyprocrisy If they really cared about morals that much people would have rather faced reality than to have pretended forever that they have really tried to prevent it. Anyway, who cares about the powerless?
NedKelly Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I imagine Brunei would be similar to Malaysia in this respect. Malaysia muslims are not supposed to use prostitutes, so all the brothels are located in 'discreet' places like behind hotels or on a dedicated level of a hotel.......and they will be masked as 'Health centres'.......and you should see the steady traffic of locals going in and out (sorry about that).......all night !!
meemiathai Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 There are more hyprocrites than human in this world!
