Reccomendation For Beach Resort

I have some friends coming into town who would like to stay somewhere in Thailand in a 5 star resort on the beach. They want to be somewhere where the water is clean and the ammenities are plentiful. I was thinking Koh Samui or Koh Chang.

Anyone have any ideas and hotel recommendations?

Take a look at Khao Lak, there are plenty of 5 star hotels such as La Flora, Ramada, and Mukdara.

Personally I like the Centara Grand on Koh Samui which is located on Chaweng Beach. Hotel has everything and directly on the beach. Rooms are nice and have good rates at the moment. I've stayed there several times over the years and it never fails to disappoint me, with the most recent stay a couple of weeks ago. They have very good promotional rates right now as well.

I like the Sofitel Centara Hua Hin for a some colonial style relaxation but the beach isn't the best.

I'd vote for the Sofitel Centara Hua Hin too. We took my sister and family there for a week when they visited and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

If money is no object,why not try the Amanpuri Resort in Phuket.Located near Pansea Bay it has every amenity and comfort available to the discerning guest.
