You visit Suan Phlu Immigration immediately after getting your new passport to have it updated.

When you pick up your new passport your embassy may give you a letter to take to Thai Immigration over at Soi Suan Plu, off of Sathorn Road. If not, go to the Immigration office anyway and ask for the "lost passport" desk/office. This is a common occurrence so they have a special desk to take care of the problem.

They'll ask you for your date of arrival, with this they'll look up the "TM #," that's the Arrival Card you filled in when coming here. After a bit of walking around you'll get a new "Departure Card" with the old TM # written in, and a new arrival stamp.

FYI, taxis usually know about Soi Suan Plu and Immigration, "doe moe" in Thai. Also, the #62 bus goes right by the place from Sukumvit Road about Soi 2, and Wireless Road.

Sorry to hear about this ! The best advice I can give you is...

make a copy of your passport, scan into a jpg file and store it in your email account

make a copy, once here, of the immigration card (with the number...)

make a copy of the stamp in your passport "on arrival".

A photocopy costs here about 50 satang....

Scan all these things and store them in your email acct. Or in your family's email.

Hum, your ticket and (travel) insurance too.

It does help in these events if you have a photocopy of your passport stored somewhere safe.
