Long Term Stay.. Help

Featured Replies

hi

i just finished my study and i have a diploma of Master's Degree. i want to stay with my girlfriend in Thailand and work in there. but i don't know what kind of visa i should apply for obtain long stay.

1.if i will apply for turist visa- 60 days to find a job, can i apply for non-imigrant visa then in Thailand ?

2.Or if it will be a problem with finding a job, and she can provide me letter of invitation and i will show i have enough money in Bank in Thailand can i get non immigrant visa as well.

what would be the best advice for us..?

My plan is to obtain visa wich provide me a 1 year and i will be able to extend it again untill we decide to get married

So any advice is appreciated.

many thanks

On the job....highly unlikley unless you know people who can pull strings for you, considering the current economic climate...wouldnt hold your breath...

The simplest solution is to get married an then you can get a Non-imm O, long term stay based on marriage

i have someone who can help.. but i have to be in thailand first so i can't apply for non imigran vista from my country.

now how i should start what kind of visa (or solution :o) i should apply first? to stay as much as i can and then replace it to non immigrant visa?

I would enter with tourist visa first. Then you just need to find a job that qualifies you for one year non immigrant B visa and work permit. Finding the job is the hard part.

Marriage only takes a couple of days. You need an Afirmation of freedom to marry from the Polish Embassy in Bangkok.

I little bit confused about non immigrant visa B and "O"

I've read trough it that i can apply for non visa O" if i will say that i want to visit my girlfriend and she will provide a letter of invitation to confirm she will be responsible of my staying in Bangkok, and ensure that financialy she can support me am i right ? or there could be a problem to obtain that visa from Thai ambassy in Poland?

I don't know of any Embassy that will issue a non immigrant O visa for such reasons. Only when married is the normal policy.

Probably not, at least for 'official' Thai consulates. But some honorary consulates can be accomodating, as the following from a recent thread indicates:

Perth will grant a visa if your are visiting your Thai g/f and you have a photocopy of her ID card or her passport. The following is from Perth consulate info letter.

In cases of visits to “partners” the application must be accompanied by a copy of the partner’s passport or identity card.

The operative word would seem to be "partner," not "g/f." But the end result is very helpful for couples of all persuasions.

You are going to have to ask the Embassy in Warsaw. I would think that they will not issue.

Try contacting the Consulate in Hull UK. They issue a Non Imm O Multi Entry with no problem.

Members have reported applying by post from Europe with success. It is worth a try.

Put on the Form. Visiting Freinds and Family. A letter from your Girlfriend would help but is really not needed.

A Non Imm O Visa will give you 90 days.

A Multi Entry Non O Visa will give unlimited entries of up to 90 days each one. It lasts a year. Do the last exit/entry just before it expires and you get another 90 days. Giving a total of 15 months.

Whatever you do , contact them first before you do anything. Ask how much extra the postage will be. I remember other posters saying that £10 was the amount.

Speak to them. Thay are very friendly.
