The "fun" Is About To Begin

Featured Replies

Just came back from a drive through Pattaya and found an enormous amount of police everywhere.

At Bali Hai pier there is some kind of pro-government ralley getting underway and a few hundred meters away the riot police have blocked the road going up to the Big Budda completely with personnel and a fire truck.

At the intersection of 3rd road and Thappraya we saw red shirts starting to gather.

Time to batten down the hatches!

Don't know whether youv'e been out of town recently or just hibernating somewhere but this all started 5 days ago as the ASEAN summit is being held at the Royal Cliff Resort and the Red Shirts have come down to show displeasure at the current government,

hence all the security measures.

Unfortunately for all the Jomtien and Pattaya residents the ASEAN Summit meeting will continue for another two days, i was told it ends on the 12th so the disruptions with the roads and no parking will contiue a little longer.

Then we've got Sonkran starting for mostly all of next week, so if you need to go anywhere or make any appointments i would scedule them from the 20th onwards.

Happy days! :o
