I have Microsoft XP professional .Trying to open XLS files & can't.Help please.

I deleted my post because I mixed up xls with xml files.

xls is of course MS Excel but still wondering about xml files.

You need Excel to open .xls files

Think you need to install Microsoft Office :o

As mentioned, that is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet file. Try using MS Word Viewer if you don't have MS Office or OpenOffice. Also will need this > Compatibility pack

xml files can also be opened with Excel. Or use dreamweaver orany other application to read and construct xml files.

Try downloading Openoffice. Free open-source MS office alternative. Works really well, been using it for years. www.openoffice.org
