Single Entry Non Imm O Extension

Featured Replies

For my last visa I went to Vientaine for a 3 month Non Imm O single entry visa which I got. I was told that I can extend this visa by another 2 months at an immigration office and also told it would be a local office rather than a trip to the border.

When I applied I was staying in Bangkok but have moved up country since then.

Does anyone know if I can extend this visa at a local immigration office?

If yes which office would I have to use?

The one in BKK where I was listed as staying when I applied or will any local immigration office be able to do it for me?

Fanks

It can only be extended for 12 months if you qualify on the basis of marriage, retirement etc.

EDIT.

There is a provision for a one off 60 day extension to visit a Thai Wife or Child

2.24 In the case of an alien

visiting a Thai spouse or child:

Permission

will be granted for a period of not more than 60 days at a time

You will have to apply at your local Immigration Office

Yes a 60 day extension is what Im asking about. Last I heard was that the Non Imm visa's were being dealt with in regions. I have a friend in Phetchabun who says hes going to have to go to Nan to do his report/extension ( i forget which) even though theres an office where he lives.

So it doesnt matter where I was living when the visa was issued/applied for?

You do where you are currently living - the visa was obtained overseas. Extensions of stay are obtained inside Thailand and for those you have to use the office it was extended at (or have file moved if you have moved).

Im living in Phetchabun province, Ive only been here 2 weeks so and havent notified anyone that Ive moved.

The visa hasnt been extended Im just at the end of the first 90 days.

You should extend at the office in Nan (which serves Phetchabun Province).

You better have your wife/landlord register you are staying there. You will have to go to Nan-immigration.
