April 14, 200917 yr My Thai 'ex' went to consult an important Mor doo (fortune teller) in her village yesterday on the occasion of Songkran. This old woman said that in the future, 'farang' would rule Thailand! Asked if the Thais would fight the farang, the Mor Doo said no - the Thais will fight and kill each other and the Thais who are not killed will welcome the farang as their new rulers.... It must be true - the Mor Doo said so Simon
April 14, 200917 yr That will throw this forum into total disarray. How the hel_l are we gonna whinge and criticise if it's one of us that's in charge? If it happens though I'd predict a massive tightening up of visa regulations. No....... shaved heads tattoos beer guts body piercings socks with sandals Singha vests and nobody with less than a PhD. Oh, wait a minute, we've all got one of those already haven't we?
April 14, 200917 yr The mor doo must have watched Abhiset on TV last night. I got a potted translation from the Mrs, so forgive me if I got this wrong ... but my take on it was ..... Abhiset said (in a round about way) that the foreign media and foreign government were playing up the extent of the problems (hence all the negative coverage and travel warnings) and in so doing were deliberately or inadvertently playing into Thaksin's hands. They were fostering the view that the Thai Government had lost control of the situation. This posed that risk of a foreign government (not specified which one) would feel justification to enter thailand and take control (speculation: perhaps on the pretext of protecting their citizens). Thaksin would then come back to wrest control or be handed control. Thais needed to work together to stop this happening (= citizens blood needed to be spilt doing the work of an ineffectual police and military to get the reds back in their boxes). More manipulation. More use of the foreign bogeyman to suit Thai political expediency. Abhiset really really needs to get his act together - first being honesty and ACCOUNTABILITY then decisive action - or next step will be a military government

April 14, 200917 yr i have 2 choices with this one: close it or move it to the farang pub section. let me know what you prefer? sorry, but as there are numerous threads running on the current political turmoil, we are trying to consolidate discussions and news update to make them comprehensive. please do not start new threads but do either of the following: 1. if you find news articles with sources from media, photos, and the likes...please post them in 'existing' thread in the news clipping section 2. if you have an opinion, strong feelings, debating points, solutions you would like to propose, please post them in an 'existing' thread in the General sub-forum 3. if you want to report traffic and incident you or family and friends have witnessed (updates of facts....but no political opinions please), then you can do so in the News only thread on General Forum, and also in the existing thread in the Bangkok sub forum thanks everyone for your patience and cooperation.

It must be true - the Mor Doo said so Simon Interesting. If you think about it, another spiritual book says the exact same thing. ALL countries and peoples will come under the central rule of a all-poweful person. A world-wide ruler. That person will be the Anti-Christ according to the book. Now whether or not that person is a Farang (Caucasian) remains to be seen. According to the Mor Doo it will be a Farang. I tend to agree. No surprise there since since Farang money is the single most powerful force in Thailand today. THE FARANG BURDEN I often have to quell my laugh Upon hearing the Thai people say, "Never have we been occupied..." But look at them today. Playing the quiet fools off-stage We Farang wait in stealth Long nosed hordes breach the gates Our weapon is our wealth. Unaccustomed to Farang ways The indigenous stand in wonder While puppet Thai's receive their bribes And lawyers protect our plunder. The Farang burden has come to this Drunken sods, teachers and fools Pack your sh*t, CV submit You're wanted in Thai schools! By NHC
April 14, 200917 yr I hope these topics wont be closed..................a little light humour and banter is much needed.

The biggest investors in Thailand are the Japanese, but I loved the poem anyway. Edited April 14, 200917 yr by Groongthep

April 14, 200917 yr Glad I hoped in here just before the move. The colonization of Thailand is long overdue. It's true they escaped our grasp longer than most but the inevitable is the inevitable. Now come to papa my little Issan princess!
April 14, 200917 yr Maybe not a farang. Maybe a gay couple, one of them luk-krung. Bird McIntyre married to Beautiful Boxer?

It must be true - the Mor Doo said so Simon if farang start to rule Thailand then I think I would leave! I dont like the way they ruled any other country I have lived in. sometimes the Thais in charge of Thailand do some strange things, but the Pros far outweigh the Cons and I prefer living here.
