ok theres a lot of speculation about this

so lets try to resolve it

the question is :

how many members of this forum know someone personally that has received or been offered money to support the red revolution and how much was it?

if you have further details to add please do

please be honest or its pointless

i will start us off:

i personally do not know anyone that has been offered or taken money for supporting the reds

the closest i can get to it is that my housekeepers says her family in Burriram and in Lampang have been offered 500 baht to go to Bangkok to support the reds

she was a staunch Thaksin supporter for years by the way and now almost spits on the floor at the mention of his name

ok anyone else?

please give me a minute to put my fireproof suit on before the flamers descend on me....

Although I am not a Red Shirt, I went to have a look at the protest in Lampang to see what was going on. Many people were donating money but the people I spoke to were amused to think they could get paid to be there. Free lunch boxes were being handed out, but unfortunately none of these had money in them either.

About every second speaker was some kind of rabble rouser but everything seemed to be in a festive atmosphere, even though some of the claims were a bit on the outrageous side.

There was an ongoing attempt to raise a car pool to take people to Bangkok. They were promised food and transport and nothing else. They were advised to take their own bedding.

In this particular location at least, claims that people were being paid are absolute crap.

as there are numerous threads running, we are trying to consolidate discussions and news update to make them comprehensive.

for this reason Im going to have to close a few threads, including this one.

please do not start new threads but do either of the following:

1. if you find news articles with sources from media, photos, and the likes...please post them in 'existing' thread in the news clipping section

2. if you have an opinion, strong feelings, debating points, solutions you would like to propose, please post them in an 'existing' thread in the General sub-forum

3. if you want to report traffic and incident you or family and friends have witnessed (updates of facts....but no political opinions please), then you can do so in the News only thread on General Forum, and also in the existing thread in the Bangkok sub forum

thanks everyone for your patience and cooperation.

You can continue your political discussion on the issue here:
