Extention And Songkran

Featured Replies

i had to to my visa extention at the immigration yesterday. but yesterday being sunday i could not, and friday being a new found holyday, i could not.

and now songkran is to be extented untill 17? (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Songkran-Extended-Friday-April-1-t257322.html)

When does immigration open? anyone has any idea? ima be like 8days late if it continues.

Have seen nothing official to indicate that there will be more holidays. Immigration should be open Thursday unless there is an official announcement of new holidays.

In the past have they charged people more overstay when they declare a new holyday day out of the blue?

You are not charged overstay if you report on the next workday after a holiday.

I can confirm what lopbuir says.. i went down on thursday to do a extension of stay and diditn have my mrs house paper.. my visa ran out last sunday and the immigration said that they would not charge me as they were off mon/Tues/wed

It's just been confirmed that 16th and 17th are extra Public Holidays.

Does that mean the immigration will be closed for these days??

Probably, but you'll only know for sure when you turn up and find the doors locked. Your right, not a good way to run a railroad!

Most likely.

Phuket Immigration has been reported as saying that all offices of Immigration will be open on the 16th and 17th.

Concur(no problem) with the above, just make sure you get you backside in first thing on 16th :D:D:o:D
