We have been conned by an English couple. We bought a bungalow fully furnished in Thaland, Phuket and when we arrived they had Moved out with all our furniture. If anyone has any advise on what we should do we would be grateful. The worst part is we now don;t have the money to furnish it.

It's sad when your own kind rip you off. All we know is that they moved to Changmai. So if you know any english couples who have recently moved there from Phuket, BEWARE! They won't answer their phone so we are seeing a lawyer tomorrow.

if you cant afford to buy new furniture for your bungalow then you certainly wont be able to afford to pay lawyers to engage in what will turn out to be a very expensive wild goose chase.

I kind of doubt that they were being honest when they said that they were moving to Chiang Mai. Con artists usually lie about anything that could catch up with them.

what dose the couple do?were they working,or job?try to locate their new place by their work style?

If you bought the bungalow presumably you have a contract and their details when you trasfered the property and got your 30 year lease registered. As this will include their passport and visa details you could register a case of theft with the police if the contract mentions furniture. It may not get your furniture but they may get an unpleasant shock when they have to get an extension or leave the country.

Just as a note of caution gang.. There are two sides to every story.

I am sure that the OP wrote what he feels is a accurate description of what he feels is correct, but without seeing any agreement, we who read these posts have no way of knowing.

Maybe the Eng Couple did not feel that the furnishings were included. We cannot judge.

OP can you at least post a copy of that portion of your sales/purchase agreement that states that the furnishing was included?

If that would be the case as you have outlined, then I think that we could put out a TV APB and let loose the TV Sleuths and maybe be able to help you out.

Where was the advise? It was just an insensitive, valueless comment that establishes that if one asks for assistance with a problem in an open forum after getting ripped off,

How can it be defamatory when the couple in the picture (since removed) have now both been convicted and sentenced in UK courts?
