Wireless Router Recommendations

Featured Replies

Hi,

I want to get the wireless working on my laptop, so I need a wireless router. I am currently using the old TOT HiMark modem.

I am not too savvy with setting up these things, so I would like a recommendation for a router/modem that will work pretty much straight out of the box, ie. I can plug the DSL cable into it, switch it on and it will work.

This modem is pretty old, and it would do no harm to replace it with an all-in-one device (which I suppose would be easier to set up).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Don't know if TOT allows a modem/router.

On CSloxinfo I am using wireless BELKIN modem/router and it runs like a charm since a few years! Nothing to complain about.

I'm using a Linksys WAG200G, happy with it. When you install it you run a wizard to set it up, it already has the configuration for most ISP in Thailand, so you just select the one you use.

Sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for.

Approximately how much do they cost ?

I bought mine 2250 THB in Panthip one year ago.

I am using a D-Link DSL-2640T which is about the same price I suspect. Whatever you buy be sure to set it up for WPA and assign a long key. People look for unsecured wireless connections - and not just to use them for free (although that is probably 99%).
